EMDRIA Writes to Director of the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury

On Monday  EMDRIA President, Sharon Rollins, and EMDRIA Executive Director, Scott Blech, sent a letter to Army Brig. General Sutton, M.D., regarding EMDR and the treatment of active duty military and veterans.

As most of you know, EMDRIA has been working dilligently to increase the awareness of EMDR’s effectiveness in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder among the officials in the Military, Government, Insurance Agencies and Veterans Administration.  This particular letter asks General Sutton to remove the restrictions and exclusions against EMDR treatment put in place by TRICARE, the Department of Defense and Veterans Administration.  To read this letter, click here.

To help with the effort, please write to your Congressmen about EMDR and PTSD.  To print a fact sheet to include with your letter, please click here.

Please feel free to share your ideas on how to effectively overcome this restriction, and your experiences with restrictions such as these.
