EMDRIA Launches Public Relations Program

by Whitney Hanson, EMDRIA Publications & Communications Coordinator

Last week EMDRIA announced the launch of the Francine Shapiro Library with a press release distributed online to media around the world.  All of us at EMDRIA are very excited about the launch of the library, and about the debut our new public relations program. We hope that you will take the time to read the press release and share it with any media, bloggers or peers that you think might have an interest.

As the new Publications & Communications Coordinator at EMDRIA, I am very excited about the potential public relations has to help increase awareness, expand knowledge of, and improve the image of both EMDR and EMDRIA.  Public relations has a unique ability to reach the masses and spread the word on important news, events and stories in our community.  Contrary to the popular belief that public relations is twisted facts re-angled to shine just the right light on a situation, I believe that at it’s best, public relations is the dissemination of the truth.  At EMDRIA, we will always practice public relations the way it should be practiced — with honesty and integrity.

There are so many exciting, relevant and interesting things happening every day in the EMDR community, and I hope that you will share these things with me.  If something is happening that affects EMDRIA or EMDR that you think deserves to be promoted or the media needs to be aware of it, please contact me and we will discuss it.
